Episode 3 Best Ways to Show Kindness

 Good Afternoon,

Last time, I hope you found the link helpful in teaching your child about kindness. The students have been making a great effort to demonstrate kindness in the classroom. Now that we've delved into the concept of kindness and have been learning about it at home and school, this week, we will focus on implementing best practices to demonstrate kindness in both settings.

The skills of math, science, reading, and being kind all share a common trait - they require practice. Recognizing when a friend or family member needs help is an essential aspect of kindness. Once students remember this, they can encourage kind behavior and suggest ways to be compassionate and improve the situation.

During ample group time this week, I will ask the students questions about kindness. The first question is, "How does it make you feel when someone is kind to you?" The second question is, "How can you be a good friend?" (Teaching Children to Be Kind and Practice Compassion, n.d.)

Welcome! Here are some fantastic activities for you and your child at home. Let's focus on encouraging kindness and emotional awareness in your child. This week, I recommend making a paper chain together as a family. This activity will help your child learn the value of teamwork and listening to others. It's an excellent way for your child to understand the importance of working together and being considerate of others' feelings.

Here is a fun link for you to explore with your child.
